Here at Lin Morris we love to learn about companies who make their products locally and who are doing their bit to keep a manufacturing traditions alive. This week we learned about French brand, Yves Delorme, who still weave their luxury linens at their factory in Haubourdin near Lille in France.
Headed up by creative director Evelyne Julienne, Yves Delorme is the flagship brand of the family-owned French company, Fremaux Delorme, that has been making bed linen for over five generations. Julienne has been at the helm of Yves Delorme since 1984 as the designer and as the artistic director, creating new designs season after season for over a quarter of a century - no small feat!
The factory’s location, near Lille, France, is in the traditional heartland of the country’s textile industry and where Fremaux Delorme’s founders, Ernestine Fremaux and her husband, began the business over one hundred and sixty seven years ago in 1845. Today it is one of the longest continually operating textile manufacturers in Europe and the Yves Delorme linens are distributed in over 450 stores in 45 countries.
Known for its outstanding quality, the products are all made from natural fibers in the purest European tradition inherited from French haute couture.
Next month, Yves Delorme will launch its Autumn Winter 2012 collection. We particularly love the below Silhouette bed linen range - a delicate mix of dusky pink and navy blue accents.
The new collection will be launched next week at Maison&Objet In Paris from Friday 7th until Wednesday 11th September 2012, Hall 2 Stand F1G1.
