The Woww collection by the Dutch designer Mae Engelgeer consists of festive geometric patterns, woven and developed at the Textile Museum in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Made of a mixture of mohair, cashmere, cotton and acrylic, the collection includes quilts, baby blankets, cushions, scarves and a tea towel.

I spotted this beautiful jacquard at the always impressive Maharam showroom this week during NeoCon 2012. In collaboration with Antwerp-based Studio Job, the American textile brand showcased Farm and Farm Stripe, depicting traditional farmland scenery in a complex woven jacquard construction. This complementary pair of dense, narrative patterns is an ode to rural heritage. Using a flattened perspective, Farm presents an assemblage of livestock, crops, implements, and rural transport, while Farm Stripe features repeating ribbons of farm iconography— pitchforks, apples, split-rail fences, sheaths of wheat, and life-sized horseflies all make appearances.

Hitch mirror

For their first solo presentation at ICFF, Lin Morris favorite Grain launched several additions to their in-house collection, as well as new styles, materials and colors of their bespoke Bound mirrors. New work included Hitch, a precision cut mirror threaded and hung from thick manila rope. The piece takes inspiration from the process of threading hang tags – which partners Chelsea Green and James Minola know well from packaging their Chi-Chi necklaces. The design revealed itself while Minola was experimenting with the materials used for their popular Hung mirror.

Marie Michielssen for Serax

We spied these summery textile planters by Belgian decorative accessories brand Serax at Maison & Objet earlier this year.
