Having run for nine days and played host to over 300 exhibitions and events, the 2013 edition of the London Design Festival came to a close on Sunday. There was no shortage of design to see and we had many favourites including these new products by young Norwegian design duo Vera & Kyte.

Last year we featured the beautiful 6:1 ceramics collection by talented Dutch ceramicist Kirstie van Noort - a collection of interestingly-textured tableware made from porcelain waste.

This weekend, I escaped New York City’s most recent blizzard to Puerto Rico for a tropical weekend getaway, and was enchanted by the vivid colors that adorned buildings all over the city of San Juan. The full spectrum of brights and the decorative geometry made for a satisfying feast for the eyes, especially for this New Yorker who has only seen shades of grey for the past four months.
