We are currently transfixed by these absolutely beautiful floral images by Elspeth Diederix who started her botanical blog thestudiogarden when she moved into her new studio in Amsterdam two years ago.

We’ve never seen floral photography quite like this before. Taken quickly as fun experiments – a respite from her primary photography work – these studies have a dark nature to them. The blooms are not quite perfect, often dried, sliced, spliced and artfully arranged or manipulated with hand drawn patterns. Definitely one to follow.

Scholten & Baijings

These images are taken from the in-store magazine of Hennes & Mauritz owned fashion brand COS. The Swedish chain store’s magazine looks at design,art and culture, and I thought that this series of floral images was particularly interesting. For their tenth issue, COS magazine asked five noted designers and artists to design them a custom-made bouquet. An adjustable fruit bowl made from beech wood and polypropylene by Spanish designers Omelette-ed.

A little Friday afternoon fun – this film was made by Dutch directors and artists Lernert & Sander, who were commissioned by Wallpaper* magazine to create create a film about Italian brand Brioni‘s bespoke tailoring for the Wallpaper* Handmade issue. Using a very refined hand as their muse, the film demonstrates, with elegance and humour, the skills and craftsmanship that go into making a Brioni suit.
