Recently launched at imm Cologne, we are in love with these smart wooden containers by industrial designer Eric Degenhardt for German brand Böwer. Finely crafted from turned ash, the rim of each container is partially cut away to create a handy letterbox-shaped opening for removing the lid.

Armed with a set of power tools and a truck, Brooklyn-based designer and maker Ariele Alasko of Brooklyn To West collects old, unwanted timber and takes it back to her studio where she skillfully crafts it into unique pieces of reclaimed furniture.
