After three weeks packed full of design (spoga+gafa, Maison & Objet, London Design Festival) it was this simple little exhibition of sticky tapes at legendary designer Jasper Morrison’s studio that made me smile.

At the back room of Morrison’s shop, a quiet and calm little space amongst the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch, members of the JM studio have assembled an enormous and colourful variety of sticky tape from all over the world. It’s the fourth in a series of mono-themed exhibitions put on by the studio for the London Design Festival – last year was drinking glasses, the year before it was trays.

Jasper Morrison Studio says, “Textures, colours, sizes and a variety of functions are the defining differences between the hundreds of tapes which have been assembled with the purpose of examining the extreme variations and seductive nature of an object type with which we are all familiar.”

The exhibition runs until September 23 at Jasper Morrison Shop
, 24b Kingsland Road,
London, E2 8DA
