I’ve often heard office furniture described as ‘boring’, but in the case of Tacchini’s 2013 launches I have to disagree. The Italian brand’s new Cromatique collection is anything but. I particulalry like these impossibly proportioned pieces by Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune.

Established in 2005, Derek Welsh Studio is a Glasgow-based practice that produces beautifully made furniture. Characterised by clean silhouettes, sensitive use of colour and meticulous attention to detail, each piece the studio creates is handmade to order by experienced woodworker and designer Derek Welsh. Shown here are pieces from his exquisitely made Graft Collection.

This has got to be the slickest fireplace design that we’ve seen in a while. Presented in Ventura Lambrate earlier this year during the Salone del Mobile, Faro is is a mini ethanol or woodburning stove that can be used either indoors or out.
