Ceramic tea set Kyusu & Yunomi by Tokyo-based designer 83Design. Local Tonami, Toyama potter Sansuke-yaki has a rich 150 year history, creating a color and texture unique to the area and ancient techniques. The subtle and rich color is made by using only locally sourced clay and glaze. Teapots of Sansuke-yaki traditionally have no handle, giving the pots a distinct shape, as well as it making it easier to store.

These stunning handmade prints are the latest work of up and coming textile surface designer Phillippa Copping, who exhibited her work last week at the New Designers graduate exhibition in London. RCA Design Products student Jungin Lee has created an unconventional moulding process, which uses flexible plastic sheets as a mould to produce surreal fibreglass forms that look like frozen fabric.

Showing last week at Design Miami/Basel with Gallery Caroline van Hoek were these sculptural letters by London-based design studio Study O Portable. The pieces, made of patinated sterling silver and bent glass tubes, operate like inverted neon signs - instead of emitting light from the inside, they reflect light from the outside back inside through the iridescent patina layer.
