Katharine Watson‘s vibrant block prints caught our eye last year at the National Stationery Show. Intricate detail and rustic beauty made the Washington DC-based designer’s work stand out to us. Each of her blocks are carved by hand and inspired by a wide range of textiles. She believes that the most important aspect of her work is keeping the tradition of hand printed textiles alive in a way that is both beautiful and accessible.

Called Hygge - a Danish word that means comfortable, cosy, homely and friendly - the pieces are designed to embrace the hand. Watching this art installation by Berlin-based studio ART+COM is like seeing a digital animation come to life. The temporal artwork was commissioned for the Departure-Check-in hall of Terminal 1 at Singapore Airport during refurbishment works. Called Kinetic Rain, the installation is composed of two parts, each consisting of 608 rain droplets made of lightweight aluminum covered with copper.
