This has got to be the slickest fireplace design that we’ve seen in a while. Presented in Ventura Lambrate earlier this year during the Salone del Mobile, Faro is is a mini ethanol or woodburning stove that can be used either indoors or out.

The design is the result of a collaboration between Portuguese designer Rui Pereira and Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada, and is built from components produced in Portugal, Japan and Italy, all made using regional craft techniques.

The designers explain, “By using material such as red clay, hammered copper and aluminum we wanted to evoke the memory of the traditional wood-stove.”
