Color stained stoneware bowls by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio

This week saw the New York Gift Fair descend on New York City for the second time this year. One of our favourite booths belonged to JOIN – a group of ten independent West Coast-based studios who join together to collectively show their new home goods and personal accessories. Bound mirrors by Grain

I spotted these Bound mirrors by Seattle based studio Grain at ICFF back in May. I love how they mix simplicity with intricate craft. Their bound twine edges remind me a lot of the multicoloured African¬†jewelry made from vinyl disc beads. However, despite their African aesthetic, the mirrors are made a little closer to Grain’s home in the Pacific Northwest of the USA from renewable materials including bamboo, wool felt and hemp twine.
