Farnsworth House by Mies van der Rohe_10

I came across Ludwig Mies van der Rohes’s Farnsworth House in this month’s issue of Elle Decoration. Based in Plano Illionois, the house was built between 1946-1951 as a retreat for professor of medicine, Dr Edith Farnsworth. These photos were taken by Dayna Bateman. Read the rest of this entry »

This beautiful modernist house was designed by architect Ray Kappe for his family in 1965 and is one of my favourite examples of modernist architecture. Located in a canyon in Pacific Palisades, California, each of the floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with light and frame stunning views across the hillsides. Read the rest of this entry »
