The Hechima chair by Japanese architects Ryuji Nakamura & Associates was shown last month at DesignTide Tokyo. The architects tell us that “It might look complex and organic but it is really the opposite”, the chair is made out of layers of curvy, plywood components (shown below), which are stacked on top of each other to create the chair’s structure. The same system can be used to build tables, beds and partitions.
