On Friday I visited the studio of London based weaver Holly Berry to collect her amazing Love Blankets which we are now stocking in our shop - yes, in case you hadn’t noticed we now have a shop. It’s all very exciting. With the sun streaming through the windows (a rare thing in London) and brightly coloured yarns stacked up around the loom, the studio looked too good not to take a few photographs of. So here they are.

While Holly weaves her scarves and wraps by hand in London, the larger blankets are made at a 250 year old mill in Scotland. They are all made from carefully sourced natural yarns such as cashmere, lambs wool and merino; these textiles are designed to last a lifetime.

The graphic block prints featured on the designs aren’t just pretty patterns, they actually spell out secret messages in Morse code. Take a look at the Love blanket in our shop. Holly also offers a bespoke commission service for hand woven scarves, wraps and shawls containing hidden Morse-code messages such as names, dates and memories in a personal colour choice.

Holly shares the old warehouse space with her welder/furniture designer boyfriend Osian Batyka-Williams. Although the studio looked like the idyllic weaving environment, welding and weaving are not compatible in such a small space, so the pair are soon moving to a larger abode in New Cross, London where they plan to build a new creative space in an old Tandoori restaurant. We can’t wait to see the results!
