You may ask, where has the Lin of Lin Morris been? Well, I’ve been busy planning an event in New York City that will auction off items from some of our favorite designers to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Among those favorites is UM Project, who stepped up to the challenge that we tasked them with: make new pieces out of debris and refuse from the storm. Some of the hardest hit areas were the homes of Brooklyn’s design best, and François Chambard, the lovable genius behind UM was insistent that a portion of his proceeds go directly to those designers who were devastated by the flood waters.
The results are breathtaking. Six pieces in all, all using refuse from the storm found in Redhook, from friends and fellow designers Token‘s flooded shop. Two pieces will be raffled off for cash that will go directly into Token’s pockets to help them back on their feet.
If you are in the area, please come see us at Reclaim NYC, on Wednesday, December 19, 7-9 pm. The silent auction will be held at Ligne Roset SoHo, 155 Wooster St. You will not be disappointed.
