Sand Chair Series
Switzerland
A big thanks to our friends over at Present and Correct for bringing these brightly-coloured beauties to our attention. Made from mortar that has been dyed with pigment, the sand chairs are the work of Swiss design studio Kueng Caputo.
The mortar mixture is poured layer by layer into a mound and then sculpted into shape with a hammer and chisel to create pieces that have intense saturated hues and an unusual chalky texture.
Every stool is unique and can be used indoors and out - guaranteed to brighten up the dullest of spaces.
Kueng Caputo is made up of young Swiss-born designers Sarah Kueng and Lovis Caputo, who have worked together since they were both students of design at the HGKZ Zurich from 2004 to 2008.
