Camerino Valet Stand by Brose~Fogale_45

Our friends over at the new London-based design studio Brose~Fogale launched their debut product at this year’s Salone del Mobile in the form of a flat pack valet stand. Convenient and flexible, the Camerino can be simply propped up against the wall in a bathroom, bedroom or in the hallway providing the perfect place for prepping and preening.

Jean and I saw these mirrors by Spanish studio Mut Design Studio at the Salone Satellite in Milan earlier this year. Their pretty ombre colors and clever design made them one of the stand-out pieces from the show. Called Zig Zag, the mirrors are composed of lengths of mirror of varying thicknesses that are mounted onto coloured strips of wood and arranged at 45 degree angles. Read the rest of this entry »

Designed for Wallpaper* magazine‘s annual Handmade exhibition at Milan Design Week, Sopa is a collection of mirror cabinets for the bathroom by Dutch design studio De Intuïtiefabriek.

Continuing with this week’s (coincidental) theme of astronomy, these mirrors that resemble colourful planets caught my eye earlier this year at Maison&Objet in Paris. They are called Francis and are by French designer Constance Guisset for Parisian design brand Petite Friture. Soft washes of colour have been applied directly onto the edges of mirror’s surface to give the illusion of convexity. They are available as both wall mounted and smaller pocket versions.
