Commissioned for the exhibition Vera Chapter Two, Metals is a series of objects by Spanish designer Tomás Alonso that are made from pieces of copper and mild steel that could have been found in the sea shore. Over the weekend I noticed that we had a high number of visitors coming to us via a post on the brilliant design blog Swiss Miss. We also noticed that the picture the post linked to was from a blog post that somehow got deleted back in January when our site was hacked. We came across this neat little range of desk accessories whilst perusing French designer Pauline Deltour‘s website. Designed for Japanese ‘no brand’ brand Muji in 2011, the collection is made from scrap wood left over from the kitchen industry. As far as we know they have never been put into production (or are not available at our local stores anyway), however we have our fingers crossed that we will see them on the shelves soon.
Earlier this week we posted about the beautiful Thalie collection by Julie Richoz. While browsing her website we also came across another ingenious idea - a desk tray based on the design of a crumb collector used by waiters’ to clean restaurant tables.
