This wooden daybed is by Berlin based designer Elisa Strozyk who is famed for her innovative work with wooden textiles. Strozyk took a 1950s vintage piece and upholstered it with a textile made from paper thin wood veneer. Soft and flexible, the textile is a hybrid between marquetry and traditional quilted textiles.

The daybed was presented at The Threads That Bind Us by Plusdesign - a collective exhibition at Milan Design Week that presented the work of a selection of designers who are working with textiles in new and experimental ways.
