PADAUK (pterocarpus soyaxii) AFRICAN WOOD 35x45cm
Green is the colour that is typically associated with trees, however when Dutch design studio Raw Color and paper craftsman Leo Hoegen of Papierderij captured the colours of different tree species in paper form, the results ranged from salmon pink to warm yellow. Called Paper Shades, the project resulted in a beautiful set of hand made papers that each preserve the unique colour of the tree species they are made from. Trees featured include Padauk (above), Black walnut, Wenge, Chestnut and Spruce.
