American designers Rich Brilliant Willing have launched, along with Karlsson’s Gold Vodka the open edition RBW Bar Kit. Starting with the notion that the best ideas are left unfiltered, Rich Brilliant Willing created a family of objects that pertain to the ritual of drink making.
Jean and I saw these mirrors by Spanish studio Mut Design Studio at the Salone Satellite in Milan earlier this year. Their pretty ombre colors and clever design made them one of the stand-out pieces from the show. Called Zig Zag, the mirrors are composed of lengths of mirror of varying thicknesses that are mounted onto coloured strips of wood and arranged at 45 degree angles. Read the rest of this entry »

We love these spoons found via the excellent Spoon & Tamago blog. They are made by Japanese craftswoman Yumi Nakamura who works mainly in copper and brass. The shapes are hammered out using an ancient process that dates back to the the Yayoi Period (300 BC – 300AD) when these types of metallic material first entered Japan. Back then, everything from vessels and mirrors to swords and shields were made this way. Read the rest of this entry »
