These Marble lights by Swedish designers studio vit may be made of heavy marble and glass but the overall effect is one of weightlessness.
The collection consists of a number of interchangeable glass spheres and cylindrical marble lamp holders of various sizes and shapes. The possible compositions include table, floor and pendant lights, and there are also three floor weights which can be used as counterweights to the suspended lights.
We spotted the lamps on our trip to Milan last month where studio vit were exhibiting at the SaloneSatellite. The London-based studio is a collaboration between Swedish designers Helena Jonasson and Veronica Dagnert. Helena has worked in the furniture industry since graduating with a degree in industrial design, and Veronica has a background in fashion and a Masters from Central Saint Martins in London.
