Let's Colour Project
While Jean is off stuffing her face with Turkey and making paper place settings in the shape of pilgrims, I have been stuck in Thanksgiving-less London. So this little film by paint brand Dulux brightened up an otherwise very grey day. Launched last year, the Let’s Colour Project is a corporate initiative that has gone beyond just serving as an attention grabbing PR stunt to actually bring communities together to collectively improve their environment. Armed with paintbrushes, rollers and bucket loads of paint, the Dulux team set off around the world to work with communities in run down, disadvantaged areas where they transform their neighbourhoods into kaleidoscopes of colour. To date, the Dulux teams have used 205,601 litres of donated paint and made a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives - you can see exactly where they have done this on the interactive map on their website. Due to it’s huge success the program looks set to continue. Also check out their more recent Own a Colour fund raising initiative here.
