I’ve often heard office furniture described as ‘boring’, but in the case of Tacchini’s 2013 launches I have to disagree. The Italian brand’s new Cromatique collection is anything but. I particulalry like these impossibly proportioned pieces by Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune.

Inspired by the block colours and simple shapes found in the work of American minimalist artist Ellsworth Kelly, these three armchairs turn art into functional furniture.

Light and graceful, the Kelly chairs show no trace of screws or joints with the oversized seats appearing to simply rest on the thin metal frame.

There are three models to choose from - the high-backed Kelly H, the low-slung Kelly E and the more laid back Kelly L.
