Greenhouse is an annual exhibition held at the Stockholm Furniture Fair that functions as a platform for up and coming designers. This year we spotted the work of Danish furniture designer and cabinetmaker Jonas Lyndby Jensen who makes beautifully crafted furniture using traditional woodworking techniques. Here are a selection of his products…

In Norse mythology, Megingjörð is the name of the power belt worn by Thor, the god of thunder. Jonas used the belt as his inspiration when designing the robust form of the Megingjörð couch shown above. A laminated belt forms the back of the couch and two laminated arms are mounted underneath.

The Snowshoe chair is inspired by the shape of shoes used for walking over snow. Made in bleached and soap treated ash, the chair is a combination of a classic cabinetmaker chair with elements of a Viennese bentwood design. The seat is upholstered with woven white horse hair in a chain of white linen thread. The textile is designed and manufactured by Danish textile designer Jacob Bille.

To make the Arch side tables, Jonas made a stack of oak veneer strips inside a mold which he bent and twisted 120 degrees to create an elegant curve. Three of these pieces are then glued together to create this symmetrical structure. A sheet of 8mm glass serves as a table top.
