Dutch design studio Raw Color never fail to create visually stunning works of design as a result of their explorations into color. Their latest project is no exception. The Index Collection is a line of cotton tea towels made up of 3 different color series - from Monotone to Duotone through to Multi-tone.

Each series is created using the same formula, the first tea towel is created using white cotton and one other color of yarn to create a patchwork of 8 tints.

An additional color is introduced to the second tea towel that blends with the white and other color to create three hues each and five tints.

A third color is introduced for the third design, resulting in a patchwork of 6 tints of 5 hues - confused!? You can use the helpful small squares that run across the tea towels as a color index to decipher how much color is used within each section - each small square represents 10%.

The Index Collection was been developed at TextielLab, Tilburg and was made possible with support from the Eindhoven municipality and Stichting Stokroos.
