Lynn Bailey is a fine art printmaker based in Devon. Her work involves etching, collagraph, drypoint, mono print and photo etching. She also keeps a ‘work in progress’ diary that provides a fascinating insight into her working processes. This series shows her making a series of prints using wild leaves and grasses gathered from the traditional hedge banks found in the Devonshire countryside.

Of her work she says, “One of the things that excites me most about printmaking is the potential to use materials gathered from the environment in the actual creative process. These materials leave traces of themselves embedded in the artwork - as we too leave traces of our activities etched into the landscape. All my artwork is in some way influenced by the environment.”
