If you know what we’re talking about when we mention the The Marauder’s map, The Daily Prophet, the 422ND Quidditch World Cup or The Quibbler magazine, then you will be delighted to know that these beautifully designed pieces of Harry Potter history are now available to buy from The Printorium.
Each of the artworks were featured in the film series and are the work of graphic designers Mira Minaphora and Eduardo Lima, who together developed the visual style across all eight Harry Potter films.
The duo first met on set in 2001 and worked together on the films until 2011. Their work often involved researching laborious hand-worked techniques - from trying to achieve the perfect aged-effect through coffee staining to spending hours in antique book shops looking for the perfect typefaces.
Over the past twelve months, they have taken a nostalgic journey back through the film series’ graphic prop archives and selected both ‘hero’ and lesser-known graphic props to reproduce as limited edition distinctive film art, all produced in their Central London studio. Their new venture is called The Printorium.
After whittling the selection down to just 8 beautiful images, Mira and Eduardo invited fans of Harry Potter across the globe to vote for their favourite 4 artworks, which now form The Printorium’s launch collection.
Each of the images were originally designed on the film set at Leavesden Film Studios, Hertfordshire, England between 2000 and 2010.
All prints are produced and printed in the UK using pigment inks on 300gsm Hahnemuhle fine art paper. Each print is edition numbered, embossed and signature-stamped. Get them while they last!
