Melina and Dodd Raissnia of Peace Industry own and operate their own workshop in Turkey where they utilize a method that is a revitalization of the oldest rug tradition from Central Asia that had been on the verge of extinction.

Peace Industry felt rugs are made from 100% lamb’s wool and natural dyes. They are hand-made in small batches so each piece is unique. Check out this Flickr set that explains a bit of Peace Industry’s process, which includes rubbing the felt with soapy water.
