Years ago, my ex-boyfriend Mike introduced me to the work of his childhood friend, a talented artist named Dan McCarthy. The two grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where Dan still resides, which may explain his ethereal screen prints with nautical and nature-inspired themes.

His prints sell out regularly, and savvy fans are subscribed to his Print Club, receiving 12 signed and numbered limited edition screen prints and an exclusive bonus print a year. At $365 (did he purposely make it a dollar a day?) its not such a bad idea if you want to get your hands on some of these beauties.

Dan’s pieces that use intricate silhouettes against head spinning colors are my personal favorites, and he continues to inspire me after all these years.
