Surprisingly beautiful colour combinations and patterns are found in the unlikeliest of locations in this series of photographs of empty sports courts and banal urban architecture by Ward Roberts. The subject matter may sound unappealing but the Melbourne based photographer has managed to frame these everyday views in such a way that the repetitive geometry and washed out pastel colours take on a nostalgic, cinematic appearance.
