The Chromatic Typewriter is a modified 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter, and instead of the letters and keys, Washington-based painter Tyree Callahan installed color pads and hued labels to create a functional “painting” device. Callahan submitted the typewriter as part of the 2012 West Prize competition, an annual art prize that’s determined by popular vote.
This is a clip from the Beatles‘ 1965 feature film Help! I remember watching this clip as a child and thinking how wonderful it would be if such a house really existed; I was a particular fan of John Lennon’s sunken bed and Ringo’s electric blue walls. Read the rest of this entry »

As London Design Festival officially began yesterday, we should probably be out and about checking out the latest events and launches across the city. However, no one needs all of that hysteria on a weekend and there is plenty of time for that tomorrow; Sunday’s are all about relaxing.
