On a recent trip to a European flooring show, luxury rug designer Jan Kath‘s stand was a breath of fresh air. Jan is probably one of the only rug designers who is as well known as the rugs that he designs. Last year he opened stores in New York and Berlin, and won the Wallpaper* Design Award for best rug at their prestigious annual awards show. Visiting Holly Berry

On Friday I visited the studio of London based weaver Holly Berry to collect her amazing Love Blankets which we are now stocking in our shop - yes, in case you hadn’t noticed we now have a shop. It’s all very exciting. With the sun streaming through the windows (a rare thing in London) and brightly coloured yarns stacked up around the loom, the studio looked too good not to take a few photographs of. Henri Roché pastels

Today I have been searching the internet for a particular brand of French pastels called Henri Roche. The reason being that my boyfriend and I saw them featured on a documentary earlier this year and he mentioned how much he liked them - I cleverly took note of this at the time, smugly thinking that I could save myself the inevitable last minute Christmas shopping panic. While Jean is off stuffing her face with Turkey and making paper place settings in the shape of pilgrims, I have been stuck in Thanksgiving-less London. So this little film by paint brand Dulux brightened up an otherwise very grey day. Launched last year, the Let’s Colour Project is a corporate initiative that has gone beyond just serving as an attention grabbing PR stunt to actually bring communities together to collectively improve their environment. Armed with paintbrushes, rollers and bucket loads of paint, the Dulux team set off around the world to work with communities in run down, disadvantaged areas where they transform their neighbourhoods into kaleidoscopes of colour.
