Metals by Tomás Alonso

Commissioned for the exhibition Vera Chapter Two, Metals is a series of objects by Spanish designer Tomás Alonso that are made from pieces of copper and mild steel that could have been found in the sea shore. The objects’ shapes are the result of very basic manipulations to standard industrial metal extrusions; the function is insinuated rather than dictated. Read the rest of this entry »

We found this eye-catching tapestry project by French design studio STATUE in the halls of Maison & Objet over the weekend. Called Tapisserie Frondesco, the brilliant colours and interesting construction are the handiwork of STATUE’s founders, product designers Romain Guillet and Louise de Saint Angel.
