Model 2129, Gino Sarfatti 1969

These five elegant lighting designs by legendary Italian designer Gino Sarfatti were all designed between 1951 and 1971 but could all easily pass as pieces that were launched for the first time this year - a testament to Sarfatti’s talent.

As captivating now as they were then, the designs have all been brought back to life as part of a collection called Edition No. 1 by Italian brand Flos that was introduced earlier this year.

I’ve often heard office furniture described as ‘boring’, but in the case of Tacchini’s 2013 launches I have to disagree. The Italian brand’s new Cromatique collection is anything but. I particulalry like these impossibly proportioned pieces by Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune.
