Over the weekend I noticed that we had a high number of visitors coming to us via a post on the brilliant design blog Swiss Miss. We also noticed that the picture the post linked to was from a blog post that somehow got deleted back in January when our site was hacked. Smart and simple, Office Tools is a series of desk accessories by Danish designer Thomas Wagner that are made in wood and metal. The wood forms the structure for each product, while the metal plates house the function. The series has simple, standard dimensions, which are repeated from object to object. Not only does this help to simplify production but it also gives the objects a consistent and balanced appearance.
I met German brand Pleased To Meet at the Paperworld trade show/stationery heaven earlier this year. The studio is run by Berlin based duo Daniela and Marcel – Daniela is the designer who creates the brand’s wonderfully whimsical illustrations.
Last week at Stockholm Design Week I went to see Swedish designers Note Design Studio‘s latest collection launch – one of my favourites from my visit and you can see images of the collection on their website here. However when looking around their site I also found this brilliant collection of office accessories called Kopiad for the Swedish company Boxit Design, which was also launched last week but I somehow missed.
