It’s always nice to find something like this series of photos by Swedish photographer Petter Johansson in your email inbox. This colorful still life composition was created for ’Atelier Food‘ – a collaboration between international top chef Stefan Eriksson and leading figures from the fields of communication, science, culture and business.
When browsing the globe through Google Earth, Brooklyn-based artist and programmer, Clement Valla, noticed that every now and then, there are a series of disjointed images, where the landscape seems to buckle and warp, distorting Google Earth’s ordinarily seamless representation.
Using an electron microscope, British photographer and artist Rob Kesseler has photographed plant samples such as pollen, seeds, fruit and leaves, to create an extensive series of images called Phytopia that lie somewhere between science and symbolism.
Following on from last year’s One Week in Japan, this is the latest high speed slide show from photographer and UI designer Mike Matas. This time he documents a roadtrip across the United States from San Francisco to New York. Every frame is beautiful.
