This year’s trade shows have been packed full with ombre effects and saturated colour, and we thought this sideboard by Berlin based designer Anne Boenisch combined the two very nicely indeed. The polyester plissé fabric that forms the doors, slides open through a brass rod set inside the oiled oak wood frame.

Boenisch added the ombre colour effect to accentuate the gliding motion of opening and closing the doors. The combination of the crafted cabinetry, the sheerness and delicacy of the folded fabric and the striking colour gradient create an all together, very light and elegant piece.
