These playful vase prototypes were designed by Italian designer Matteo Zorzenoni and made in collaboration with skilled craftsmen Pietro Viero and Sartori Marmi. The Crystal ball vases are made from borosilicate glass and marble.
Zorzenoni is also a consultant at Fabrica, the Benetton Design and Communication Research Center, where he develops projects for exhibitions, museums and interiors.
The simple forms and playful nature of his work remind me a lot of the work of Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, who, interestingly, Matteo has collaborated with at Fabrica. We look forward to seeing more of his work in person during Milan Design Week at Edition of Nine in Ventura Lambrate, Meet Design in Tortona and Zeta at Superstudio Più, Temporary Museum for New Design.
